The captains have been in contact with the girls, but we need players to sign up. The first one is this Saturday! Questions can be directed to the captains (Lexi Pass, Katie Hoban, and Caroline Curnal) or to the booster club (rhstigersglax@gmail.com).

Who:

ALL GLAX players including freshmen!

Where:

Joy Ride (62 Danbury Rd, Ridgefield, CT 06877)

What to bring/wear:

water, comfortable/athletic clothes, comfortable sneakers

When:

Saturday Feb. 10th from 1pm - 1:50pm (please arrive 10-15 minutes ahead)

Thanks for your support. Fundraisers help keep booster club dues down (we haven't raised dues in the past 5 years), subsidize the end of season banquet, provide a senior schoarship, pay for the kickoff food, and so many other things throughout the season.

Save the Dates...

Spring is almost here, and that means RHS GLAX is gearing up for the season! Please note the following dates...

FEB 22 – Please join us for a season kickoff fundraiser at 850 Woodfired Pizza. Dine in or take-out from 5-10pm. Fundraisers help the booster club support our players throughout the year!

FEB 26 – First day to register for spring sports through the RHS portal. Any questions, contact the athletic office or us at . No player will be allowed to tryout without proper paperwork. The athletic office does need a few days to process it, so please plan ahead.

MARCH 8 – RHS Athletic Director, Dane Street, will hold a spring sports information session at 6:30pm in the auditorium. The coaching staff will hold a short GLAX breakout session after his talk. Our official GLAX kickoff meeting will be held after tryouts.

MARCH 17 – GLAX tryouts start. Please be patient and understanding of the times and places for tryouts. There are many teams vying for field space at this time. Last year we had snow and had to move to indoor facilities at the last minute. Please know that everyone will work to make tryouts as smooth as possible. If you have questions that do not specifically pertain to a coaching issue, please reach out to us at . More information will follow in the coming weeks.

MARCH 22 – GLAX kickoff – parents and players need to attend this meeting to get information about the season, volunteer opportunities, apparel options, booster club activities, and much more. The session is held in the Student Center after practice/scrimmage. Food and beverage will be available for our very hungry players.

If your player has graduated or is no longer playing lacrosse at RHS, please consider unsubscribing from this site to stop receiving durther emails.

Thank you,

The RHS GLAX Booster Club

Preaseason volunteer positions

Welcome to 2018!

With GLAX season just a few short months away, the booster club is hard at work organizing a great season. We have a few parent volunteer openings that we need to fill before the season starts.

  • WEBMASTER This website is crucial for us to stay in communication with parents and players for team information, game and practice schedules, and other activities. Leslie Realander is willing to guide a volunteer (or volunteers) through the specifics of our website. There isn't a whole lot to do until March. Please contact Lisa Pass at dlpfam@gmail.com if you are interested. No prior webmaster experience is required!!

  • BANQUET CO-CHAIR Please contact Christine Carnicelli (christine.carnicelli@gmail.com) if you are interested in this.

  • GLAX HS REFEREE CHAIR We need a parent to coordinate the classroom requirement for HS referees. Some of the process has been started. Please contact Lisa Pass (dlpfam@gmail.com) if you are able to help with this.

Thank you in advance for your help!!

RHS GLAX Winter Opportunities

Hello GLAX families,

The GLAX coaching staff and booster club have been working hard to organize some great optional winter preseason activities to get all three teams ready to hit the ground running when GLAX season starts in March. These programs are not mandatory, but doing some training prior to the season is recommended. We know that many girls participate in winter sports through RHS, and we support multi-sport athletes.

STICK SKILLS CLINIC

A total of 8 sessions will be offered as a package headed by Brenden Curran with the assistance of Kristen Ohberg (former SUNY Cortland WLAX player).

  •     Location: Brewster Sports Center (19 Sutton Pl, Brewster, NY 10509) on Sundays from 10am - 11am.
  •     Dates: 12/10, 12/17, 1/7, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/25
  •     Cost: $150

Checks made payable to “RHS GLAX Booster Club” and send to Deb Linke (116 Eleven Levels Rd. )

  • PLEASE RETURN ATTACHED REGISTRATION AND WAIVER WITH CHECK before the first day of clinics. No player will be allowed to attend clinic without registration.

RHS WEIGHT TRAINING

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:15 pm in the weight room at Tiger Hollow. Schedule changes will be communicated by the RHS Varsity captains via the team Facebook group.*
  • RHS weightlifting registration form is attached and must be filled out and sent to RHS Athletic Department

Freshmen are sometimes intimidated to start this program, but the GLAX players are very excited to welcome our youngest players to the family. It is a great way for the younger players to get to know the older players, ask questions, and become familiar with the program.

*The GLAX captains maintain a Facebook group open only to our players. It is one of the major forms of communication among the girls for the entire program - regardless of team. We encourage that players request to be in this group. If they go to Facebook and search “RHS GLAX 2018” a group will come up with a picture of a some of our varsity girls. Parents are not in this group as it allows the players to become more independent and responsible as athletes and high schoolers getting ready to move on to college. The captains will communicate information about the weight training through this group.

AGILITY AND CONDITIONING CLINIC

Information will be sent out as soon as it is available, but it won’t be starting until January.

OTHER IMPORTANT DATES...

3/17 - First day of tryouts - RHS forms must be filled out online. They can be found on Power School under “High School Page Links”. Please allow 2 weeks for processing. NO PLAYER WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRYOUT WITHOUT THESE FORMS ON FILE.

3/22 - GLAX kick-off meeting (we will not be having our official kick-off at the spring AD meeting as some other teams do)

Please reach out to the GLAX booster club board if you have any question about these programs at

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT GLAX PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND PRACTICES AND GAMES DURING SPRING BREAK. FCIAC SCHOOLS HAVE STAGGERED BREAKS, SO THE SCHEDULE DOESN’T ALLOW FOR TIME OFF.

Thank you,

2018 GLAX Booster Club Board
